PURPOSE
The mission of the Scholarship Committee is 1) to organize and manage all aspects of the scholarship given by The Garden Club of New Haven to a local recipient (in the years when the GCNH offers a scholarship) and 2) to propose candidates for national or state-wide scholarships awarded annually by the GCA or the NGC/FGCCT. The Committee communicates with the Chair of the Civic committee to determine candidates for the Florence Bradley Award. The Committee communicates with any potential recipients of GCNH scholarships and arranges presentations by them to the membership during a General Meeting.

Deadline for Solicitation of Candidates for GCA/FGCCT Scholarships
Both NGC/FGCCT have robust scholarship, fellowship, or award programs. Eligibility for the Federated program www.ctgardenclubs.org is limited to Connecticut residents whereas GCA support www.gcamerica.org is available nationwide. The Committee identifies and proposes local candidates for these statewide or national awards.
The Garden Club of New Haven makes annual contributions to each of these funds. The Committee is responsible for recommending to the Board the amount of the Club’s contributions.
