PURPOSE
The Hospitality Committee is responsible for arranging and supervising the serving of refreshments at all GCNH meetings and cleaning up following the meetings.
Prior to each monthly meeting, committee members are required to manage setup of tables, presentation of food, beverages and tableware. The Chair coordinates with the Chair of New Member Education to assign Provisional Members and their sponsors the task of providing flower arrangements for the food service table(s). Each active and provisional member is assigned a month and asked to bring 100 sandwich pieces or 4 dozen homemade or bakery cookies. Some substitutions, such as fruit and cheese or other foods may be made; check with Hospitality Chair, Maggie Gottschalk, margaretgottschalk48@gmail.com or 203-710-4876 for your assignment see your directory or click here. Please make arrangements to switch months with another member if you are unable to bring food your assigned day- just be sure to let Maggie know of the change.
For the Club’s annual meeting in June, the Chair works with the President to identify a location at least one year in advance, and organizes rentals of needed furnishings, equipment and audio apparatus as needed (with the assistance of the Program Chair).
The Committee is also responsible for making assignments to all club members to provide tea sandwiches or cookies once a year, for communicating these assignments by June 1st to the Corresponding Secretary and President for inclusion in the Directory each year, and for sending reminders to members in advance of upcoming meetings.
