New Haven Green & Its Elms
A primary focus of the Club’s work continues to be planting new trees on the Green, in other city parks, and on New Haven streets, and providing assistance for the care of these trees.
Phelps Triangle Park
For decades, Phelps Triangle Park has been a favorite neighborhood relaxation spot in the heart of New Haven. Club members care for the park as needed throughout the year.
St. Martin de Porres Academy
St. Martin de Porres Academy – The Garden Club is in the midst of a pollinator garden installation project following site remediation and mugwort removal.
Holiday Arrangements
Each December, members gather to make holiday arrangements for numerous area nursing homes and charitable organizations. It is one of our very favorite meetings – a time of fellowship and festive holiday spirit.
Environmental Heroes
As part of the Centennial Celebration in 2025 The Garden Club of New Haven named six individuals to receive the Environmental Heroes Award. Each honoree has contributed to protecting the health, sustainability and beauty of. the environment. The Club. has planted trees in their honor in places of their choice through the city of New Haven. See Civic Committee section for details.
