PURPOSE
The Hospitality Committee is responsible for arranging and supervising the serving of refreshments at all of the GCNH monthly meetings. Members of the committee help with set-up and clean-up in addition to other tasks. For special events, such as the Holiday Luncheon in December and the Annual Meeting in June, committee members are also asked to help plan ahead to make the events extra special by arranging for any needed party rentals and extra decorations.
Each active and provisional member is assigned a month to bring either sandwiches/savory food or cookies/dessert. The Chair makes these assignments ahead of time and they can be found in the directory/handbook next to each member’s name (active and provisional only) with the month and either an S (sandwiches) or C (cookies). A reminder email will be sent ahead of time alerting the member as to what kind of food and exactly how much is being requested. If the member is unable to bring food that month, it’s their responsibility to either swap assignments with another member or order the appropriate food at a caterer ahead of time, to be picked up by a committee member before the meeting.
The committee also coordinates with the New Member Education Committee to assign Provisional Members and their sponsors the task of providing flower arrangements for the food service table(s).
